Meet with the local guide at Ban Jelacic square, the main square in Zagreb where the Gradska Kavana Restaurant & Cafe is located. Drink tea or coffee with a piece of famous local pastry Zagreb kremšnite. Continue to Kaptol where the Cathedral of St. Stephen and Archbishop’s towers and halls are located. In just a few steps the tour will lead you to Dolac the most picturesque open air market in the city.After experiencing the local way of grocery shopping continue towards a pedestrian zone where locals enjoy daily in numerous restaurants, bars and galleries. The tour continues up to the to the Stone Gate – a remaining of the medieval strong city walls. Passing through the gate a different, enchanting Zagreb returning back to 15th and 16th century will appear. In a carefully selected gallery caffe bar you will have the opportunity to taste homemade grappa made of honey, herbs or peach along with arancini (candied orange peel typical for Dubrovnik area ), paprenjaci ( biscuit containing a unique mix of honey and black pepper ) & caramelized almonds.
Step by step you will discover all major sights of Upper Town where you will have a traditional lunch. After lunch you will head down to Lower Town, experiencing the shortest furnicular ride in the world. You will be following the so called Lenuci’s “green horse shoe” with impresive squares and parks, passing Croatian Academy of Science and Arts, Art Pavillion and other amenities. The pleasant walk will lead you to back to the Ban Jelačić Square.
